Title: Indigenous Support Programs at Secondary Explained By Students
Description: Hear from a group of secondary Indigenous students about the healing, comfort, encouragement and support they experience in the Indigenous education rooms across the school district. The students tell us that the focus on relationships, opportunities to calm and regulate, access food, receive academic support, a deep connection to culture and opportunities in leadership are having a strong impact on their school experience and success.

Description: This past year at CDG, we reimagined our ways of knowing and learning as we centered ourselves around student voice. Our vision included building space for safe and thoughtful conversations, challenging staff’s biases and uncovering the student’s experience. Our staff and students indulged us in our quest as we worked together to strengthen our school and, our community.
