This presentation will give you insight into the hope of the new school and what it means, the name, and our district’s steps towards truth and reconciliation.

Description: As we strive to ensure our LLCs are welcoming, inclusive, safe spaces for all, we must take a critical look at our collections, displays, and classification systems. Are we reflecting our common values of equity, diversity, and cultural identity in positive and respectful ways? Learn more about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action directly connected to the work in our LLCs. Be introduced to the Brian Deer classification system and why it has been used in all LLCs across the District to classify our Indigenous resources. Celebrate the progress made in our school LLCs this year and take away possibilities for the future!
